Recovery Fitness Class

While a lot of our events are for the purpose of having fun in recovery, our Recovery Fitness Class is also beneficial to recovery in ways that may not be obvious.

Engaging in regular physical fitness has a profound positive impact on mental health and can significantly aid in recovery from substance use disorder. Exercise stimulates the release of endorphins and other neurotransmitters that enhance mood and reduce stress, helping to alleviate symptoms of depression and anxiety. The routine and structure provided by a regular fitness regimen can also offer a sense of stability and purpose, which is particularly beneficial for individuals recovering from substance use disorder. Physical activity serves as a healthy coping mechanism, diverting attention from cravings and reducing the likelihood of a return to use. Additionally, the social aspect of participating in group exercises or fitness classes can help build a supportive community, fostering connections that are crucial for emotional and psychological healing. Overall, integrating fitness into daily life not only boosts physical health but also plays a vital role in enhancing mental well-being and supporting long-term recovery from substance use disorder.

Regardless of where someone is at in their recovery, or their fitness journey, our Recovery Fitness Class is a great tool to add to the “recovery tool box”. Come have some fun while making positive healthy choices!
